Fenty x Puma SS17 Review

Fenty x Puma SS17

Rihanna and her bad gal self decided to leave us shook after showing her SS17 Fenty X Puma collection in Paris on Wednesday. She served up some Marie Antoinette realness, mixed with the blasé, oversized, too cool vibe of her AW16 collection. It was shocked to be honest, I didn't see this one coming and apparently RiRi gave all the models a little pep talk before the show started saying "Let's do this thing. Let's make some money!" And make some money she certainly will, Rihanna's touch on Puma has been golden - need I remind you of the creeper or the slides?

The models were draped in pearls and lace with faux lip/chin piercings just to keep our feet firmly on the ground of street. Less let them eat cake, and more, let them sashay in curb-stompers down the catwalk with pearls swanging from their necks. Fenty X Puma SS17 collection still is all about the streetwear silhouette - oversized hoodies etc - but in soft pastel blush pinks, lavenders and mint greens and Japanese cherry blossom prints.

We have to talk about that huge bow fastened around the model's waist, which doubles up as...wait for it...a bum bag. Literally the trendiest bum bag I've ever laid eyes on - trust Rihanna to take a previously shunned item and turn it into what will be the cutest accessory of SS17. RiRi got the midas touch.

I do have a problem with one aspect of the show: the shoes. I hate them, I hate all of them, I really do. I want to throw them all into a fiery furnace along with crocs and anything "orthopaedic", that's how much I would hate to slip my feet into them. No, no,no. But I can look past the shoes (because it's Rihanna) and focus on the hot as fire clothes.

What do you think of the Fenty X Puma SS17 collection? Will you be snatching the clothes up come Spring/Summer next year? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below...
